Some Tips After My Trip to Hue
I recently spent a few days in Hue and really enjoyed the slower and more peaceful atmosphere compared to Da Nang and Hoi An. Just wanted to share a few small tips that might help other travelers:
Rent a motorbike or use Grab to visit the tombs because they are quite far from each other. Try local dishes like Bun Bo Hue, Banh Beo, and Nem Lui — the food was amazing and cheaper than I expected. The Imperial City is very hot during midday, so morning or late afternoon is the best time to visit. Walking along the Perfume River at night was really relaxing and felt quite safe. If you travel from Da Nang to Hue, I highly recommend going through Hai Van Pass because the views are beautiful.
Overall, Hue feels less touristy and more local. Definitely worth staying at least 2–3 days instead of just doing a day trip.
