Best time to visit Ha Long Bay?

I’m planning a trip to Ha Long Bay and wondering what time of year is best to visit. I’d love to have good weather, clear views, and maybe avoid huge crowds if possible.

I’ve heard some months can be foggy or rainy, while others are very hot and busy with tourists. For people who have already been there, which months would you personally recommend?

Also curious whether an overnight cruise is really worth it or if a day trip is enough. Thanks 😊
