Is An Bang Beach Worth Visiting? My Experience After Several Trips
If you're spending 2–3 days in Hoi An and wondering whether you should spend all your time in the Ancient Town or head to the beach, I'd definitely recommend setting aside at least half a day for An Bang Beach.

I've visited An Bang several times in different seasons, and each visit has been a little different. What I enjoy most is that it still feels peaceful and relaxed, unlike many of Vietnam's more crowded beaches.

What I Like Most About An Bang Beach
A long stretch of soft, clean sand.
Clear water with gentle waves during the dry season.
Plenty of beachfront cafés and restaurants where you can relax for hours with a drink.
Beautiful sunrise if you're willing to wake up early.

If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, try arriving before 8:00 AM or after 4:00 PM.

Is It Easy to Get There?

Absolutely. It's only about a 10–15 minute drive from Hoi An Ancient Town by scooter or taxi. Cycling is another great option, as the route passes through peaceful villages and scenic rice fields.

Where to Eat?

There are plenty of seafood restaurants and Western-style cafés along the beach. Prices are slightly higher than in the Ancient Town, but the ocean views make it worthwhile.

If you're traveling with friends or family, ordering a seafood dinner while watching the sunset is one of the best experiences you can have in Hoi An.

A Few Helpful Tips
The best time to visit is generally from March to August, when the weather is sunny and the sea is calm.
Bring sunscreen—the central Vietnam sun can be surprisingly strong.
If you're renting a scooter, ask about parking before arriving to avoid unnecessary parking fees.
Weekends tend to be busier than weekdays.
Is It Worth Visiting?

In my opinion, absolutely.

Hoi An is famous for its charming Ancient Town, but An Bang Beach offers the perfect balance to your trip. Spend the morning exploring the old streets, relax on the beach in the afternoon, and return to the lantern-lit town in the evening—it makes for an ideal day.

An Bang Beach has also been recognized by several international travel publications as one of Vietnam's most beautiful beaches, thanks to its white sand, clear water, and laid-back atmosphere.

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! 😊

That was exactly the kind of information I was looking for. October or November sounds like the perfect time, and you've convinced me that an overnight cruise is worth the extra time. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and the guide—it'll definitely help me plan my trip better.

Thanks again!
